Week 4
These weeks are going faster and faster. Now we have almost finished constructing the robot. The low traction game, like every other team will tell you, is an incredibly NEW experience and our speedy recovery from the shock feels pretty miraculous. Hopefully we will be able to test drive the robot next weekend. It seems so soon! Also, we worked on the robot bumpers during the week. The electronics board has been laid out and will be wired as soon as possible.

Over in the office and out of the shop, 3DS Animation simply kept rendering their video (this takes a really long time) and wrote the script for the animation, which will be voiced-over early in week five. The Chairman's Video is about 3/4th done, but essay format was just recently thought on. Because making a video for Chairman’s is a new experience, the main members assigned to the paper have chosen to try to revamp the way Chairman’s is written and the attitude it is approached with.

In other news, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers' (Chapter 52) Chairman-Elect came today to deliver something special to us, their renewed sponsorship! We'd like to thank SME for their multi-year contributions to RaileRobotics!

Team Captain, Ronny Tozier, accepting a substantial donation from Reed Bennett, a SME reprentative (above).

Thanks again for tuning in!

Week 3
Another week zooms by.

Lots of things were accomplished and started this week. We have built the chassis of the robot and are taking final measurements. Animation spent most of the week rendering what they have animated. The kids working on the Chairmans Award have interviewed members and are up to 58 seconds. Public Relations made buttons to give away at competition. All in all I guess a lot of things have gotten done and we ate a lot of good food.

Time for a teaser:

And that’s how the cookie crumbles!

Week 2!
Wow, week two is over, already! Our team accomplished a lot in the past two weeks, but we see a long road before we complete the robot and go to competition! In Inventor, we fully designed and prototyped the robot, so machining starts today. Website kids started the Chairman’s Award Video and also helped Public Relations print bandanas, which are being folded as I type. What's more, 3DS animated several full scenes. All this and we gained a new mentor, whose information should soon appear on the bios page. (We look forward to working with you in LABview!)

Now for all the teams looking at our site, here is this week’s teaser:

Of course Website will always be here to keep you informed!
