Making Progress
Both teams have made a lot of great progress in the past couple of weeks. We spent a lot of time as a team last week, and began building the playing field. Voting on robots for each team also took place three weeks ago. In addition, we composed a list of parts we needed to purchase still, including motors and gears. Programming is coming along slowly but surely, as we have several members on our team who are new to the concepts. All in all, everything is going along really well. We hope to keep moving forward to accomplish everything we need to get done. Watch out December, here we come!

As Always,

What We Have Learned
We have finally begun our FTC season. We are creating our robots, and have many new comers to our team. Recruiting went better then planned, adding about 15 or so new members. We have come from not knowing anything to figuring out how to put the wheels together. I know that I am having a blast with my first year of RaileRobotics, and I am hoping that everyone else is as well. We have read the rules and examined every corner of every page. We made the designs and now ready to build, now only to get the robots done and running. Our first competition is on December 5th, and West of Oklahoma City. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the season goes.

Sincerely,
Morgan A. Welch

New School Year
I hope everyone had a nice summer, because now it's over. Unfortunately it's now time to go back to school and with school starting up again it means a new robotics season. With graduation, our little team of 14 people lost 6 seniors including our team captain. We also lost 2 other members. The good news is that most of them went to WSU and are willing to come back and help us if we need it. So, the returning members have been trying to recruit new people for our group. Freshman day didn't go as we planned, we only gave out one application, but they didn't turn it back in, but with us talking to friends who showed even the slightest interest and the power of Facebook we have about 7 turned in. Tonight was open house and a lot of parents were interested and kids also, so we should have some more applications turned in here next week.
Fund raising ideas are still being thought out. So far, all that I know is that we will be doing concessions at football games. There will be no Wallace Tozier concert this year. (If you have any fund raising ideas please comment!)
We hope to have our first team meeting here in the next couple of weeks. We should get some bright new kids on the team to help recover from our loss.

I'll be trying my best to keep you updated.
