    FIRST. It's fun for the mentors, the parents, and especially the students! At the same time, it is one of the most challenging school-sponsored activities you can join. You will be pushed. You will be shoved. You will love every minute of it. Once you join, you realize FIRST is more than just the robots. FIRST is the people and the knowledge. Students meet people from their own school, their community, their country, and from across the world.

    Also, the impact FIRST has on your life is long-lasting. Not only do colleges value students who competed with FIRST, but it has a huge impact on careers in science, math, and technology, giving you the potential to change the world. The knowledge you gain through FIRST gives you a headstart in a life-long journey. This program is designed to give students a hands-on, real-world approach to engineering. Most classes introducing science and technology are purely facts and figures. FIRST is the balance.

    As RaileRobotics has many internal gears like a business, many talents and interests are needed to let the group gain success. Although students who have some experience and interest in science and technology are at a slight advantage, that background isn't neccessary to have a good time.
